"Bring that which is needed to those who need it."

Bringing that which is needed to those who need it. Going to the poverty stricken places of this world and fulfilling the dreams of those who have no hope left. It is a simple project with a grandeur goal in mind, giving those things which they would never have without your help. Putting a child through school, giving them a place to sleep, giving them the gift of compassion.

The basic outline of the project starts out very simple, with so much room to grow and potential to be had. I will personally go to the locations that need our aid and set up a funding process. Only those whom I am sure will spend the money for the direct purpose that it was given, will receive this money. I will personally see to it that the money donated goes where it should.

My History

Bringing that which is needed to those whom need it. Going to the poverty stricken places of this world and fulfilling the dreams of those who have no hope left. It is a simple project with a grandeur goal in mind, giving those things which they would never have without your help. Putting a child through school, giving them a place to sleep, giving them the gift of compassion.

How this project came to me is a quick and simple explanation. Some time ago I went to Ghana, West Africa to volunteer at an unknown destination with unknown people. Part of me wanted to see, if I was really the person that I thought I am, or if I could be that person. Everyone thinks of themselves in a certain way, sometimes it is true and sometimes it is not, I wanted to be sure. The other part of me, the much larger part, just wanted to do something good.

As simple as it sounds, as the reasons are the drive to do something good is what brought me to Ghana and to the orphanage that would inspire my dedication. For one month, I stayed with the organization Cross Cultural Solutions and after my planned time was up, I felt that it had not been enough. I stayed for longer period of time, with two of the men who taught at the orphanage's meager school. In a small village filled with small homes, tiny rooms and no bathrooms.

This is what I had gone to do, to see if I could, if I would. In the end I found many things to be true, that this is what I want to do. Live in these conditions, with these people, if only to provide them with aid, to make their conditions better than they were when I arrived.. I found that these people, adults and child alike, have no way out unless there is genuine help to be provided.

How much I wanted to put these two men through school, they want to become doctors and at the rate they are going, they never will be. Children sleeping on nothing but a blanket, and office for the records that may never be built. What could I do? I had to return home because my bank account was nearly empty, what could I do to bring these people what they need?

This, this project is what I can do for them. It is what you can do for them. I am not asking for much, a dollar week can put these people in school, buy mattresses for the little ones and give these children a chance at success! Alone one dollar is almost worth nothing, but together one dollar can make dreams come true!
Current Projects

The first project that I am working on is heading back to Ghana in January, this will be the starting point for the World Volunteer Project. If I can raise enough funds through the help of good hearted individuals, like yourself, I will return to the place that inspired this project and provide them with what they need.

What is needed most at the Eugemot Orphanage is what we would consider to be basic in any care system of the Western World. They currently have some walls started on the office building that has been in development for some time. Right now there is no place to hold papers or keep records, except to store them in another city that is hours away. Without reliable transportation, it just compounds the problem of having no office.

Some of the older boys and girls are truly gifted in their studies, math especially. They can do things without calculators that most people can do with them, but they very well may not make it to a boarding school. Boarding schools cost money, and its not something that an orphan, or a donation supported orphanage can afford.

The two men whom I stayed with cannot afford to continue their education with books that we would consider quality. If someone doesn’t step in to help them, they will never succeed in their dreams. It is a dull fact about a place like this, all dreams take some form of money, and if you only have enough to eat there is nothing that can be done.

More issues and ways to benefit these people will arise as more time is spent with them, but I do know this is a good place to start. The money will be put to good use, and since I will be there as it is spent, I will know for sure that it is.
